I had the opportunity to provide appetizers for a ladies wine exchange this past week. Cocktail parties always get my creative juices flowing. They are great excuses to play with exciting flavors, cool presentations, and seasonal produce. Fall’s here again, so I get excited about all the root vegetables that shine in colder months. So for this party, I highlighted some of my favorites: maple chipotle roasted baby carrots, sweet potato blinis with a date mascarpone cheese, and caramelized onion bites with apples and gruyere, just to name a few. And of course, what would a cocktail party be without my always popular cheese stuffed mushrooms?
