I love growing lavender in my herb garden every summer – not only is it great to add an unexpected flavor to dressings, marinades, or baked goods, but it’s gorgeous purple flowers make my patio look lovely.  Some get nervous about using lavender in food, feeling like it might end up tasting too much like soap, but just a small amount can really add a zingy, herbaceous flavor to your dishes.  I love adding it to my lemon scones in the summer.
